If you love great coffee, welcome to Artisan’s selected group of coffee roasters from Thailand and Laos! We have sought out, tasted through and met the people involved, who are both creative and true artisans at their craft of roasting Thailand or Laos coffees. These whole bean roasted coffees are served up as 100% or as blended varieties and roast levels for complexity and balance.
Artisan ‘coffeos’ that are selecting and processing the best beans and roasting to perfection to bring that perfect cup of Americano, Espresso, Cappuccino or Latte when brewed into your cup.
Our coffee roasters are not likely to be found amongst the mass brands on the supermarket shelves. Try these artisan coffees according to your taste and curiosity.
Coffee beans of Arabica are grown at Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai and Nan in northern Thailand; from the Bolevan Plateau in southern Laos. The highest quality Robusta coffee beans used in the blends are coming from the South of Thailand, grown there chiefly in the provinces of Chumphong, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Krabi, Phang Nga, and Ranong. At Laos, also grown on the Bolaven Plateau.
Note: We highly recommend that you do not discount the beneficial role of Robusta beans in our coffees. Arabica has justifiably earned a reputation as the highest quality single coffee bean, but just as in winemaking where Bordeaux red wine blends are made more complex and interesting by blending with grapes that have lesser qualities on their own, but when blended together can make truly great wines of more complexity than any single grape Cabernet sauvignon wine. Arabica and Robusta blends enrich their coffees in the same way.
